Easter Sunday was celebrated at catholices from around the world  with the traditional enthusiasm and faith associated with the holy day,

On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches.

Christians believe, according to Scripture, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus.

Good Friday: Live Way of the Cross enacted at Kemmannu Church.

Kemmannu, April 18, 2014: For the first time in the history of Kemmannu Church, the Way of the Cross was enacted live with the Biblical Characters replacing the normal way of cross observed and practiced every year.

Fr. Clement Mascarenhas and Fr. William Martis who took the initiative along with the active support of the Parish council presented a emotional enaction, which was appreciated by the faithful of the church.

Mrs. Lolita Quardros , Mr. Arun Fernandes, Mr. Felix Pinto, Vice President Mr. Ronald Menezes  and many others co-ordinated and helped to the success of the show.   

Good is, observed primarily by Christians, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death atCalvary. The iday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Fridayor E aster Friday though the latter properly refers to the Friday in Easter week.

Based on the details of the canonical gospels, the Crucifixion of Jesus was most likely to have been on a Friday (the day before the Jewish Sabbath) (John 19:42) The estimated year of the Crucifixion is AD 33, by two different groups, and originally as AD 34 byIsaac Newton via the differences between the Biblical and Julian calendars and the crescent of the moon. A third method, using a completely different astronomical approach based on a lunar Crucifixion darkness and eclipse model (consistent with Apostle Peter’s reference to a "moon of blood" in Acts 2:20), points to Friday, 3 April AD 33.

Good Friday is a widely-instituted legal holiday in many national governments around the world, including in most Western countriesas well as in 12 U.S. states. Some governments have laws prohibiting certain acts that are seen as contrasting the solemn nature of the day.
