Print Udupi : The state government has appointed former minister, former MP and BJP leader K. Jayaprakash Hegde as President of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission.
A three-time MLA, fisheries minister and Udupi Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde joined the BJP from the Congress party a few years ago.
The Government of Karnataka under the powers vested under Sections 3 and 4 (1) of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Permanent Commission Act 1995 "The appointment of Jayaprakash Hegde as the President of the State Backward Classes Commission has been issued till further orders," the Deputy Secretary-Government of the Backward Classes Welfare Department has announced.
