BJP releases Udupi City Municipal Council election manifesto

Udupi : The worst governance of past Congress ruled Udupi City Municipal council will lead us to get positive response from the voters to win in upcoming election and Bharatiya Janata Party supported candidates will win all the council seats, said Raghupathy Bhat, Udupi MLA.
He addressed in the press meet at Country Inn Hotel, Manipal here on Friday, 24th August, after releasing Udupi Municipal Council election manifesto, Bhat said that even Congress stronghold wards like Kakkunje, Gopalpura, Vadabandeshwara, Bailoor and other also in favour of BJP this time due to failures of previous congress rule in CMC.
The BJP would reduce the trade permit fee to Rs.500 in the first meeting of the CMC when BJP returns to power in CMC. Earlier Congress was based on square feet and charged the license fee more than thousands, Bhat said.
The public will be released in Kattale Bagya that it would improve the functioning of street lights and a system would be put in place to repair street lights within 48 hours of any complaint.
The underground drainage system would be extended to areas such as Manipal, Malpe and Santhekatte Kallianpur. All wet wells would be concreted and leak proof manholes would be constructed, he said.
The drinking water from the Varahi to the city would be redrawn and villages en route would be provided treated water as well. We will provide all 24 hours drinking water if BJP comes to power in CMC, he said.
When BJP’s rule, a fee of Rs 30 charged for door to door collection of waste in the city and Sthree Shakti women self help groups involved. Presently heavy charges at the payment of taxes put on the people for collection of waste and garbage.
All main roads in city limit would be made two ways and where there are two ways presently would be made four ways roads. The roads would be widened in the city including Manipal Ambagilu Road, Manipal Industrial Area Road, Alevoor Beedinagudde Road and Brahmagiri Bannaje Road. Meanwhile the NH 169A would be widened from Malpe Beach to Parkala.
A modern market would be constructed in the heart of city where the present Vishwesvaraya Market with ample parking facility in the basement area, he said.
In order to self employment for fisherwomen fish market for women would be constructed in wards wherever necessary.
The health insurance coverage to families belonging to SC/ST would be increased from Rs. 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh in the city, he said.
A Zilla Ranga Mandir, public ponds in the city would be developed. A single complex would be built to include both the KSRTC city bus stand and the private city bus stand and multiple parking complex would be constructed to sole the vehicle parking problem in the city, he said
Earlier the foundation stone laid for Padukere Bridge by the BJP and now the Padukere beach would be developed in order to give importance to tourism with the help of local Bajana Madir cooperation and locals. The remaining part to develop into four ways road from Citizen Circle to Malpe main road would be developed.
A new cricket stadium along with an open air theatre would be built at Beedinagudde. For the urban poor people, residential flats would be constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awass Yojana.
Special counter would be opened for handicaps and senior citizens for queries and other matters. With the help of locals in every ward, the committees would be formed in order to help the locals as well as the development of each ward. In the municipal limits circles would be constructed on the main roads, he said.
Earlier Kota Srinivas Poojary MLC and opposition leader of legislative council of Karnataka state was released the Udupi city municipal council election manifesto. Raghavendra Kini welcomed the gatherings and compered the programme.
Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Yashpal Suvarna, Herga Dinakar Shetty, Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Kolaidi Suresh Nayak, Prabhakar Poojary, Kappettu Praveen Shetty, all BJP candidates from all the wards and officials of BJP were present.
