Chethan M selected for M.Sc. course in ICMR (Assam) - He is one among 34 students selected with Rs. 20,000 fellowship

Mangalore: Final semester B.Sc. (Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology) student of University College Mangalore- Chethan M has cleared the National Entrance Exam and got selected for M.Sc. course in Public Health Entomology at Indian council for Medical Research (ICMR RMRCNE), Dibrugarh in Assam, with Monthly Rs. 20,000 fellowship. He is one among only 34 students from the country who got selected through this examination.  

Chethan M is basically from Basavatti of Chamarajanagar District. He is the son of Mahesha M, a farmer and Mamatha, a homemaker. His elder brother Bharath Kumar M is pursuing M.Sc Chemistry in University College Mangalore.

Chethan is a proved talent. He wrote an entrance exam in 5th standard and got selected for Adarsha Vidyalaya at Chamarajanagar. He had also cleared a National-level NMMS Exam (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) exam and received scholarship of Rs. 6000/per annum for 4 years (Class 8 to Class 12). He has completed PUC at Maharajas PU College Mysore. He had written National level CET conducted by VCRC (Vector Control Research Centre) at Pondicherry on 14th August 2022.  

He has thanked Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai, all his teachers, especially his mentor Dr. Siddaraju M N, Assistant Professor from Botany, and Dr. Nagarathna, Assistant Professor from Zoology Department for the encouragement. Mangalore University Registrar Prof. Kishor Kumar C K also congratulated Chethan M for his achievement during their recent meet.
