Doha, Nov 20: Konkani speaking community of the Church of Our Lady of Rosary Qatar in association with GWA, MCC and MCA organized the screening of the Konkani movie ’Home Sweet Home 2’ on the evening of Friday November 18, 2016 at 04:00 pm at West end Park Cinema No. 4 at the Asian Town Theatre Grand Mall, Industrial area.

The movie was screened in association with Go Goa Gollywood productions.After the grand success of Home Sweet Home in 2014 and 2015, Home sweet Home 2, Goa’s first sequel was released on December 25, 2015 all over the cinema theatres in Goa. Running successfully at all theatres and completing 900 shows in 3 months, it holds the record for the highest Box office collection in Goa. The film is produced by Madhav Gad and Swapnil Shetkar under the banner of Go Goa Gollywood Productions and Co-Produced by Ashutosh Khandekar and Charles Lobo.

In Qatar, first International premier  inaugurated by Writer, director & producer Swapnil Shetkar and famous lead actors Rajdeep Naik and John D’Silva. Main sponsor of the event is Oman Air and official hotel is Mercure Grand Hotel.

A short felicitation programme was conducted by Reena Castelino during the intermission. Guests of honours were Vivan Dsouza- president of the Konkani speaking community of Qatar, Simon D’Silva president of Goan Welfare Association (GWA), Prakash Noronha president of Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Aloysius D’Souza representing Mangalore Cultural Association, Swapnil Shetkar – director of ’Home Sweet Home2 ’, Sanjay Naik –executive producer of ’Home Sweet Home2 ’comedy actor John D’Silva. 

Speaking on the stupendous public response for the movie, Swapnil Shetkar, Writer, producer & director said, "The response of the people of Goa has been heart-warming and we are looking forward to the continuous support of people coming to watch the movie in cinema halls and theatres. We believe that our movie had a message that stroked the heart of every Goan and member of Konkani speaking community."The audience appreciated the story of the movie as it created an awareness of land affairs that happen in India and many mentioned that they are eagerly awaiting the release of the next part of the movie.

The Konkani speaking community wholeheartedly thanked all the sponsors of the event and all the other volunteers who were instrumental in organizing the screening of the movie ’Home Sweet Home 2’ in Qatar.

Directed by Swapnil Shetkar, almost all the actors from the first installment have been retained in the equel, with addition of Konkani actress Samiksha Desai.Besides Naik, the movie also stars Aryan Khedekar and John D’Silva.Home Sweet Home 1&2 brings together the acting talent of two of Goa’s most-loved performers - comedian John D’Silva in a never-before role and Rajdeep Naik. Famous actress Samiksha Desai plays the lead Heroin of the film while Prince Jacob in a special role depicts the Ex Chief Minister of Goa. Other supporting actors are Prasad Naik, Satish Gawas, Anil Raikar, Luis Bachan and many other famous actors.
