NCC Cadet Junior Under Officer Jovita Andrade of Kemmannu participates in India’s Republic Day Parade 2016.

Udupi/Kemmannu, Feb 8, 2016: It’s a dream come true to youngster Jovita Andrade of Kemmannu who had a rare chance of participating in the march fast of Republic day parade held at New Delhi on January 26 this year. The dedicated and hardworking NCC cadet of Milagres College Kallianpur represented the Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate at the national level.

Daughter of Mr. Benedict George and Mrs. Dorothy Andrade of Padukudru, Jovita was interested in sports and adventurous activities right from her childhood and attained the peak in NCC by sheer hard work and dedication and getting selected in the rigorous selection process.

Republic Day camp and  parade are considered as very prestigious as the cadets get a rare chance of meeting the President, Prime Minister and other top dignitaries including the Chief’s of Armed Forces. To get selected to this event Miss Jovita had participated and stood first in Inter Battalion competition camp of 10 days at Bangalore and Pre Republic Day camp of one month in Delhi, where she had many competitions and stood first in All India Flag Area Competition. Representing the Karnataka and Goa wing the team also secured Best Directorate prize in Girls wing Competition and the Trophy which they received from Honorable Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. Karnataka and Goa battalion also won the runner up Trophy of NCC 2015-16. In all 144 NCC girls cadets were selected from a pool of 500 students in a All India level.

Jovita feels proud about her achievement in NCC and says that it was a dream come true for her to march in Rajpath in the presence of top functionaries of India.  “My aim was to bring laurels to my parents, family, my institution, parish and society” she says proudly.
