Puttur: Annual sports day celebrations of St Philomena Pre University College Puttur was held on November 21, 2015. The Assistant Commissioner of Puttur Mr. Sathish Kumar D inaugurated the sports meet by hoisting the flag and said, “Sports and games takes a person’s life to a higher level”. He also gave a call to all the students to build a strong nation. The chief guest Mrs. Shakunthala Shetty, MLA of Puttur said, ‘We should respect women and every woman should make up their mind to come up in every field.’ The Campus director Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, in his message said, ‘Every student must take part in all the curricular and extracurricular activities of the institution.’

      The correspondent of the college Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto presided over the function. Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal of St Philomena College, Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues, Assistant Professor of PG studies in Commerce, Mr. Ozwald Rodrigues, Headmaster of St Philomena High School, Mr. Partha Varanasi and Mr. Niroop, coachers of Balavana swimming pool were present on this occasion.

On this occasion MLA Mrs. Shakunthala Shetty, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Sathish Kumar D and Sports Secretary of the college Mr. Vaishnav Hegde were honoured by the dignitaries for their achievements in their respective field.

     Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, Principal of the college welcomed the gathering. Mr. Prakash Dsouza, Physical Education Instructor proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Prashanth Bhat P, Lecturer, compered the programme.

     In the closing function, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash monteiro participated as the chief guest and honoured the prize winners. Mrs. Sowmyalatha K, Physical Education Instructor proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs Usha Yashavanth A, Lecturer compered the programme.
