Sarvadharma Deepavali Celebrations held at Udupi with unity and enthusiasm

Udupi : The Sauharda Samithi, Catholic Sabha Udupi unit and Mother of Sorrows Church jointly organized Sarvadharma Deepavali celebrations at Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi campus on Wednesday, 11th November, 2015.
The programme started with prayer dance by students of St. Mary’s School. Very Rev Fr. Fredrick mascarenhas, main Co-ordinator and Parish Priest of Mother of Sorrows Church welcomed the gatherings. Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo presided the occasion.
The all religions’ celebrations of Deepavali inaugurated by Sri Sri Esha Vittaldas Swamiji of Sandipani Ashram, Kemaru and all religions leaders on the dais by lighting the lamp.
Along with Kemaru Swamiji and Bishop of Udupi diocese present on the dais were Rev. Goldin Bangera Pastor of CSI Bathania Church Parpele Karkala, Maulana Abdul Rashid Imam of Jamia Masjid, Udyavara, Gani Balraj Singh Priest of Sikh community, Manipal, Mdsgr. Baptist Menezes, Vicar General of Diocese, Nithyananda Olakkad Secretary of Nagarika Vidike, Udupi, Very Rev. Fr. Fredrick Mascarenhas, Benedicta Fernandes President of Catholic Sabha, Udupi unit.
During in his inaugural address Sri Sri Kemaru Swamiji pointed out the communal harmony with humanity. He said one should lit the light of heart on the life. God’s existence in our heart should lighten in our life as well. All religions should respect one another that God is one. We should live in the earth with communal values in life. We should see the God in our hearts with the service of people of all religions. Whether we do good things in life then we will receive well from God. We should build the Nation with beautiful and good human values.
Bishop along with the Kemaru Swamiji and Maulana Adbdul Rashid lighting the diya’s with the help of crane on the ground. Around 500 diyas were lighted during the occasion which star attraction of the celebrations of Deepavali.
In his presiding address Bishop said that every person should share the light of happiness and peace with others. Let the light of victory prevail over the society. He conveyed his Deepavali greetings to all with happiness and peace.
During the occasion various skits, dances and other programme held beautifully. Herald D’Silva teacher of St. Joseph’s School, Kallianpur compered the Sauharda Deepavali celebrations programme. Other leaders of various religions were participated during the celebrations. Sweets were distributed after the end of programme.
