Udupi : Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parished and ABVP organized a protest at Clock Tower, Near Service Bus stand here on Friday, 13^th November, 2015. The protest held against the recent incidents in Kodagu district on Tipu Jayanti celebrations and the anti people attitude of the state government.

Shobha Karandlaje Udupi Chickmagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency while addressing the protesters said that State Government under the leadership of Siddaramaiah totally responsibly for the murders following communal incidents in the state. The Siddaramaiah government in the state giving support to the recently held four murders in the state, so that the congress government is promoting rift between majority Hindu people and others for political gain.

She said that the reason behind by deciding to celebrate Tippu Jayanti to gain politically. The government should come out with its explanation that reason to celebrate the Tippu Sultan. The death of Kuttappa in Kodazgu, then district in charge minister former Home Minister George had told the media that the victim had fallen down and died. The death of Kuttappa arises lot of doubt that the very motive of the government. The Goons from Kerala are said to be involved in the killing of Kuttappa, but the state government is silent on the issue.

She addressed hardly on regard to Girish Karnad that he acting in favour of congress party. He has insulted Kempegowda saying that he had no role in the freedom struggle and his name was to be replaced with Tippu Sultan’s for the International Airport in Bangalore. The Jnanpith Awards to be given people to having no knowledge, going utterances of Girish Karnad.

During congress rule in the state, majority Hindus are facing injustices in larger sense. Siddaramaiah earlier hold caste bases conventions, caste based census and such other matters clearly understand that it is the policy of divide and rule. The chief minister is directly responsible for communities conflicts to get votes. The Shadi Bhagya scheme was implemented by the government not working at all that Muslims not benefitted out of this scheme.

VHP district President Baikady Suprasad Shetty said to the protesters that his organization will not allow any of Girish Karnad’s plays to be staged in the district. He said that this protest has only preliminary one. Majority Hindus not allowed to intolerance in the district.

Former Raghupathy Bhat former MLA of Udupi Legislative constituency said that what is the reason behind to celebrate Tippu Sultan’s Jayanti which most complicated one. Why government not celebrating birth anniversaries of Kittur Chennma and other freedom fighters. It clearly shows the vote bank politics of the state government in order to divide communities.

Along with VHP leaders, Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Dinesh Mendon, Udaya Kumar Shetty, Prakash Kukkehalli, Shyamala Kundar, Sandhya Ramesh, taluk panchayat members, grama panchayat members, local municipal councilors and other local leaders were present during the protest.

The protesters later blocked the road for around 20 minutes at Clock Tower both sides to service bus stand. Heavy police arrangements had done during the protest. Later with the intervention of police the protesters dispersed. The blockade of road traffic held at various places in the district, but no untoward incidences reported. There was confusion for the people about the bandh call at D.K. district will continue in Udupi district. There was normal life prevailed in Udupi till afternoon.
