Print Renovated Thimman Kudru Hanging Bridge Inaugurated.
Kemmannu, October 14: Popular hanging bridge connecting Padu Kudru and Thimman Kudru near Kemmannu, which was under renovation and repairs was inaugurated by local MLA Mr. Pramod Madhawaraj on Wednesday morning.
The hanging bridge one of the oldest in the state was built in 1991 and has completed 24 years. Due to wear and tear a few repairs and refitting were necessary which was done through a grant of Rupees 10 lakh from Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Oscar Fernandes under the guidance and efforts of local MLA Mr. Pramod Madhwaraj.
The 280 feet long bridge was constructed by the initiative taken by the Thimman Kudru residents and was built by NCC Cadets of KREC students of Suratkal under their Annual Training camp. One of the students Deepak had died in the accident while working on the project and later the bridge was named after him.
Local political leaders including Mrs. Veronica Cornelio, Mr. Janardhan Thonse, Kemman Panchayat President Mrs. Fauzia Sadiq, Mr. Rahamathulla Thonse, Mr. Gururaj Bhat and other Panchayat members were present on the occasion.

| Presently once vibrant Kudrus wear a deserted look as the well to do residents have moved away. Even though this is a good job done by authorities a permanent concrete bridge is a long standing wish of the residents. Agree[5]
