Udupi : Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited, a government of Karnataka undertaking company is known all over the world for its famous Mysore Sandal Soap, which accredited with Geographical indication Registry and is the Intellectual Property of India. The Company has received various awards for its progressive growth. It has also received the coveted Chief Minister Ratna Award in year 2010. The Company manufactures around 38 different products ranging from Soaps, Detergents, Cosmetics, Agarbathies and the world famous Sandal Wood Oil, said C. M. Suvarna Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Marketing) during press meet at Udupi on Thursday, 15^th October, 2015.

He said that KS&DL is certified with ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Assurance and with with ISO 14001:2004 for Environment Policy. It is continuously registering steady growth year over year, and giving stiff competition to the multinational companies. During the year 2014-15 KSDL achieved a turnover of Rs. 406 crores and registered a Net Profit of Rs. 45.19 crores, it has also set an ambitious target of Rs. 430 crores for the financial year 2015-16 and has already made steady progress in achieving the set Target.

The flag ship brand of the company Mysore Sandal Soap is growing in volumes at the rate of 14% per anum. Its other famous brand Mysore Sandal Gold Soap is also growing at the rate of 22% annum.

Mysore Sandal Soap would be completing its 100 years in May 2016 and has several plans to celebrate the centenary programme from May 2016 onwards. Very few consumer product companies across the globe have achieved 100 years of consumer trust. On the occasion KSDL has ambitious to celebrated the function in a grand way.

The products like Mysore Sandal Soap, Mysore Sandal Gift Pack, Mysore Sandal Gold Soap, Mysore Sandal Gold Sixer, Mysore Sandal Dhoop, Mysore Sandal Agarbathies, Mysore Sandals Herbal Hand Wash, Kleenol, Mysore Sandal Baby Soap, Sandal wood Billets, Sandal Wood oil, Mysore Carbolic Soap, Mysore Washing Half Bar and Mysore Detergent Cake are the notable brands which are very popular in the market and well accepted by the consumers.

Under the leadership of Smt. Veronica Cornelio, KSDL Chairperson, he said we have an innovative plan to have a vibrant soap Santhe, in the temple city of Udupi to bring to the door steps of the consumers all range of KSDL products. Where the products are displayed, exhibited and sold in discosunts, this will go a long way promoting KSDL products in Coastal region in Karnataka, the Soap Santhe will be held at Government Junior College (Board High School), near Bus Stop, Udupi. The Soap mela will be held from 16^th October, 2015 to 25^th October, 2015.

He said that have planned to launch many more products, in the coming season like, Centennial Soap, Mysore Sandal Face Pack, Shampoo and other variants of Agarbathies, all this could be possible under the dynamic leadership of Chairperson Smt. Veronica Cornelio.
