Muhurat of a Konkani Drama "NIRMELLEM CHUKANA" by Joseph DSoua Borivli

Mumbai, Aug 30: Muhurat of "Nirmellem Chukana" drama written by Joseph DSoua Borivli was held on 15th August 2015 at St. Louis School premieses, Dahisar at 4;30 pm.

Well known Konkani actors and writers were present. After the success of "ESTHEL KONNACHI VOKOL" Mr. Joseph D’Souza has come out with one more comedy drama. The  programme started with a brief prayer by Mr. Leo Cutinho. He also advised prayer should be recited before every practice during drama session. He also insisted without God’s grace and blessings one cannot achieve anything in life.

Then all the guests present introduced themselves. Sangeet Samrat Mr. henry D’souza was the Chief Guest of the event. Experienced and most senior actor Mr. William Machado will be the director of the above said drama and songs will be composed by well- known and upcoming composer Mr. Charles D’Cunha (Borivali). Mr. Joseph D’souza in his speech mentioned the diminishing demand for Konkani drama. He also explained various reasons for it.

Mr. Henry D’souza in his speech appreciated Mr. Joseph D’souza’s earlier drama and wished all the success for his new drama. Mr. William Machado told the crowd how he met Mr. Joseph D’souza and how he struggled to stage his earlier drama. He also recalled how he and Joseph D’Souza made "ESTHEL KONACHI VHOKOL"super hit with new and upcoming actors.

Flower bouquets were given to chief guest, director and president of Canara Konkani association(Borivali) by children who were present in the programme. Special bouquet was given to Miss Jennifer D’souza who is debut  heroine of this drama. Mr. George Sequeira, Hilda D’Souza and Cyril Monis read out one scene of the drama.

On behalf of Mr. Joseph D’souza, Mr. Cyril Monis gave vote of thanks. He also compered the whole programme.

Programme ended with the refreshment. The first show of this drama will most probably be staged at the end of January 2016, at Borivali. Following are the actors selected for the drama: Mr. George Sequeira, Mrs. Hilda D’souza, Pangla, Mr. Cyril Monis,Pangla-Borivali, Mr. Henry D’Souza, Miss. Jennifer D’Souza(Debutant), Mr. Ronald D’Costa, Mr. Florine Mathias, Mr. Romeo Lobo and Mrs. Ida Pereira.
