Kemmannu, August 18, 2015: Catholic Sabha Kemmannu unit celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Saturday, August 15, 2015. The unit started in 1990 with late George Paul D’Souza as the founder president has blossomed with presently having 207 members with Mrs. Jyothi Lewis as the present President.

The function began at the church hall with unit president Mrs. Jyothi Lewis welcoming the guests.  Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves inaugurated the function by lighting the lamps. Other dignitaries present on the dais were Fr. Herald Pereira, The director of Small Christian Community of Udupi Diocese, Mr. Alphonse D’Costa, Chief Guest of the occasion, Mr. William Machado, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Central committee, Mr. Kiran Elroy Crasta, immediate past president of central committee, Mr. Hubert Lewis, President of C. Sabha Kallianpur Deanery .

Mrs. Jyothi Baretto, Secretary of the unit presented the report of the last 25 years.

Fr. Ferdinand delivered the inaugural message. Being the spiritual director of the Central committee and unit he appreciated the work done by the unit in the last 25 years.  Mr. Alphonse D’Costa being one of the founder member of Catholic Sabha Central Committe in 1979 spoke about the evolution of Sabha with a humble beginning to flourish to become the organization with over 13000 members at present. Other dignitaries present on the occasion also spoke appropriate to the occasion.

Past Presidents, Secretaries, Panchayat Members and elder members were felicitated on the occasion.Members presented a skit and dance at the end which was appreciated by the gathered. Mrs. Dorothy Andrade proposed the vote of thanks.
