Unsung SUPER GURU’s  of Dakshina Kannada  received BIG award on Independence day.

August 15th, Mangalore: 6 unsung heroes from Dakshina Kannada received ‘BIG Super Guru award’ from Mangalore’s most heard FM station 92.7 BIGFM on Independence day.  This is the 3rd Year 92.7BIGFM is giving away the BIG Super Guru award. The event was held at the Big Bazaar Mangalore premises.

The 6 heroes are:

Sampath Katti:- As a child activist for Childline-1098 he has helped several orphan kids, child rape victims and other privileged children in and around Mangalore

Jeeth Milan Roche:- as an Environmentalist,  he has planted more than 70,000 saplings in and around Mangalore. Without looking for external support,he has inversted most of his savings into planting saplings across the city.

Tabassum:- Working for Snehadeepa trust, Tabassum takes care of HIV kids without apprehension. She has been doing this for many years without seeking any publicity.

Corrine Rasquinha:- Corrine runs the popular NGO ‘White Doves’. Through this NGO, she provid  food .shelter and other necessary support to the beggers, patients suffering from mental health problem etc.

Vishu Shetty:- A Social worker from Ambalapady, Udupi. Vishu is always ready to help accident victims. He has built a house for the poor an also helped a guy from Uttar Pradesh to become a police officer by taking care of his education.

Suma Nayak:- As an Animal activist, She runs a  trust called ‘Animal care trust’ (ACT) Shakthinagar that provides care ,treatment and shelter for needy animals.

Mangalore City North MLA Mr. Mohiuddin Bawa, Superintendent of Police Dr. Sharanappa,  Panamboor Beach Development Authority President Mr.Yathish Baikampady, Film actress Sonal Monteiro, Nikhil Kumtakar, Marketing Head BIG Bazar Mangalore, Karthik T.L area Manager BIG Bazar Rest of Karnataka           were present as the chief Guests.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Mr. Mohiuddina Bawa said "I appreciate the effort of 92.7 BIGFM for this work. My support is always there for such kind of initiatives. I urge the Govt to give recognition to these unsung heroes of Mangalore who received BIG Super Guru Award."

Superiented of Police Dr. Sharanappa said "I am happy to be a part of this event and my hearty congratulations to all the award winners.  People should recognize others work and try to say thank you for their work. Then only we can build a healthy society.’’

Panamboor Beach Development Authority President Mr. Yathish Baikampady said "Even in the era of social networking sites, it’s good to know that people who silently work for the society without seeking any publicity. I am happy to know about these people and thank 92.7 BIG FMfor making me part of this event.

BIG Bazaar was the Co-Partner of this event.

Young team of artists ‘Splash’ presented potrait of ex-President Abdul Kalam. Ashish and Jitesh from splash were present.

Nikhil Kumtakar from  BIG Bazar hand over the mementos to the Guests.

Artist Karan Acharya presented the caricature of MLA Mohiuddin Bava and actress Sonal Monteiro.

RJ Roopesh and RJ Errol compered the event. 92.7 BIG FM Executive Producer Shilpa Shetty welcome the gathering. RJ Rakshitha thanked the gathering.
