Print Udupi : On the occasion of the World Motor Cycle Day on Sunday 21st June 2015, the United Riders of Udupi has organized a Bike Rally from the War Memorial in Ajjarkad Udupi to Malpe Beach. This was informed by founder of United Riders Mohamed Suhail.
Speaking in the press conference to media persons in Udupi on Friday Mohamed Suhail said that, this rally has been organized to spread awareness on the road safety. Over 200 Bike riders from about 18 Bike rider clubs of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada will be taking part in this rally, he said.
He said that in undivided districts the numbers of bikes have increased. But the bike riders are wearing without helmet or low quality helmets and without safety shoes during riding the bikes.Surely, this increases the casualties when the accidents take place.
He said during this bike rally the efforts are being made to convey the message and spread the awareness that, the rule of wearing the helmet is not to avoid penalty from the Police or for fashion, but to save life.
Speaking on the occasion the event coordinator Prasad Karkera said that, on June 21 morning at 11.15 am the Bike rally will be inaugurated by SP Annamalai at War Memorial in Ajjarkad, Udupi. Later the rally will be conducted up to Malpe beach and then at 12.00 noon the Hot Piston club members will demonstrate Bike stunts. The Bike rally will again return from there to Christian High School in Udupi and the program will conclude there, said Prasad Karkera.
