Udupi : The Yakshagana Artists of Yaksha Gurukula Educational Trust ®, Havagriva Nagar Udupi not getting their wages in proper manner since October, 2014. Atound 10 artists completely neglected by the Trust headed by Director Bannanje Krishna Bhat, said Chithrapady Krishnamurthi Urala during speaking with media persons here on Saturday, 30^th May.

Earlier around 10 artists of the trust used to get Rs. 6,000 per month not well enough for their livelihood due to increased cost of living. Under the appeal by Centre Principal Guru Bannanje Sanjeev Suverna to increase the wages, the demands not met for them. Still they have not received their wages for the month of April and May.

They had several shows as per the schedule, but Sanjeev Suverna not co-operating them to play the shows, he added. The object of the Trust is to provide Yakshagana to artists specially for those who looking for research and to give training for the students and child artists.

He said their team not only in state playing Yakshagana, but also to play Yakshagana to abroad also. They also got several letters of appreciation for their shows. The said Trust not providing us any help not any money for them. They spend their own money for their shows.

During the press meet along with Chitrapady Krishnamurthi Urala, Prathish Kumar Brahmavar, Ganesh Naik, Mugwa, Sathish Kedlaya Haryadi, Devdasrao Kodgi, Umesh Poojary Uppinakote, Prasad Kumar Mogebettu, Manjunath Kulal Irodi, Muthin Naik Handandi, Karthik Subhramanya Kargallu and other among were present.
