Villagers’ Oppose to forming Kaup Town Council

Print Udupi : The government planning of unification of Kaup, Ulliyaragoli and Mallar village panchayats and forming into Kaup town Muncipal will be opposed by the these panchayats people said members of Village Protection committee.
Addressing with the media persons here Convener of the committee Kiran Alva said that in these three village panchayats about 95% people indulged in agriculture, Fishing and Horticulture. Even sufficient people are not enough to form the municipal council. Mallaru and Uliyargoli panchayats also objected to the formation of municipal council and held resolution against it. Against the decision to forming the municipal council these panchayats organized signature campaign with positive response of the people.
Even though vast opposition from the people, the local MLA and also Minister in Karnataka Government in favor of establishing Kaup Muncipal Council will be tragedy of the local people said Kiran Alva.
The committee also planning to hold BANDH if their demands are not met before 25th April, 2015. They also planning to go High court in regard to formation of Kaup Muncipal council.
During the press meet along with Kiran Alva of Uliyaragoli, Shivaji Kotian of Kaup, Irfan of Mallaru, Anwar, Lokesh Kaup and other among were present.
