Udupi : While speaking with media persons, Janardhan Poojary former Minister in Central Government and Senior congress leader congratulated former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee on being conferred the “Bharat Ratna” the greatest civilian award.

He said that during the UPA government in power Narendra Modi slammed the Land Acquisition Act, but now his government making changes in same act in the form of ordinance to help the corporate establishments. Pejawar Swamiji was against the SEZ, so he should convince the Narendra Modi government that UPA’s Land Acquisition bill in favor of farmers. In India farmers are backbone of Indian Economy. We cannot live without food. Farmers should be kept in mind while passing the Land Acquisition Bill at centre.

Congress party respects the verdict of the people during the Loksabha elections. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented a people oriented friendly budget and enforced several schemes for the betterment of the society. Liquor should be banned in Karnataka State. Women as well as men not agree of Liquor. We do not want women to shed tears over the liquor. He said he will appeal Chief Minister regarding ban on liquor. We don’t want liquor. People voted for us for the congress belief. We have commitment of able government in the state.

It is better late than never Chief Minister handed over IAS officer D. K. Ravi’s death case to CBI. CM has responded public demand to hand over said case to CBI. Government has done excellent job regarding handling the suspicious death case. Due to the CBI enquiry all suspicions surrounding the death case cleared very soon.

He felt concern on rising attacks on Christians in coastal Karnataka. Sangh Parivar and other Hindu Sangaton’s tried to malign Mother Theresa’s character. Christians’ communities in every corner of India contributed lot in the field of education and health. The statistics says that Christian communities reached the rural door steps to develop and promote education and health. There are rising attack on Christians, but BJP remained silent.

Speaking with the media persons he said Poojary have good character, so that he won several elections and lost also. It doesn’t mean that Poojary lost every thing. He don’t have money power. Due to the money power of the BJP, he lost the previous parliament election. Don’t compare him with Mahindra Singh Dhoni.
