Beltangady, Mar 17: The Ashtabandha Brahmakalashotsava of Lord Manjunatha Temple at Dharmasthala was inaugurated on Thursday March 12 by Vijayaraghava Padvetnaya, managing trustee of Lord Janardana Temple Ujire by lighting traditional lamp. As part of the rituals, the programme of reciting ’Shivasahasra Namavali’ was organized at Amritavarshini Hall here. The festivities and rituals will go on till March 18.
On the eve of Ashtabandha Brahmakalashotsava celebration at Dharmasthala, an overview programme of chaturvidha dana parampare has been organized on Sunday and District Incharge minister – B Ramananda Rai inaugurated the programme and Law Minister T B Jayachandra, Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Hegde were present on this occasion.
“We can achieve more in life through mutual love, trust and confidence. The contribution of Dharmasthala in protecting religious centre’s heritage and creating unity among the society by eradicating ignorance is highly appreciable”, said Mr. Ramanatha Rai.
He spoke these words while inaugurating an overview programme of chaturvidha dana parampare on Sunday.
“The heritage of temples in the State and Undivided Dakshina Kannada district should be well protected. The assistance and the guidance of Dharmasthala in performing religious and pooja rituals without any disturbance are highly valuable. By utilizing the opportunity that God has given him, Veerendra Hegde has increased the fame and sanctity of Dharmasthala, besides protecting his dignity and respect. Most of the credit in developing the religious centres of the district goes to Dharmasthala”, said Mr. Rai.
T B Jayachandra, the Law Minister said, “Our life style is our religion and the service of Dr. Hegde in developing the society through its regeneration set as an example to the world. His service in forming healthy society by providing new dimensions to the life of common people with new spirit is praiseworthy”.
The Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Hegde presided over the function and said that his position at Dharmasthala is a special one and he has been doing the charity heritage with a new vision with the blessings and directions of all Gods and through creative programmes. Charity is provided to all on the basis of loyalty and duty, without having any doubts on anyone. All accounting statements are transparent and the contributions of all devotees are well-spent through various trusts.
He also said that currently, 33 lacs members are there under Dharmasthala Village Development project and the project will be extended in the remaining five districts of the State after August month.
200 new water purification units will be started and dairy farming will be encouraged by providing special subsidy to 250 Milk Producers Co-operative Associations.
He remembered the co-operation of his family members and the selfless services of employees in the development of Dharmasthala.
