Mhataro Chorbela 64th show held at Ghatkoper, Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 9: One of the most successful drama of the mangaloran history "Mhataro Chorbela" marching ahead for the new records by staging its 64th show on February 8th at  Zaverben Popatlal Auditorium, Ghatkoper East, Mumbai. The writer, 71 year old Francis Fernandes Cascia was in his usual young charms to entertain the crowd through his fantabulous acting. His dream is to have its 75th show on his 75th birthday. The drama is directed by Joy Paladka.

"As, in his every new show Francis inserts catchy dialogues of the day today life and of the political scenario, it tempts to to watch its every show" said Mr. Johnson who always loves to watch this drama.

The story of the drama is that the husband who is working in the gulf countries returns back home for the good. As his wife who is very active in prayer meetings has very little time for himself, loves to pass time with the young girls. This old mans love stories spreads hilarious waves accross the auditorium to get them maximum entertainment.

The lead role of Leo is played by Francis Fernandes Cascia. Roicy Sequeira Paladka acts as his young lover Violet. The other acters are  Flora DSouza Kalmadi (Filu), Shanthi Barboza Bolie (Cynthia), Betty Naz Bandra (Veronica), Julie Vaz Malad (Flora), Peter Pais Basroor (Albert Mestri), Gregory Sequeira Niddodi (Gregory), Peter Cutinho Mundkur (Victor) and Joy Paladka (Claudy).

Mrs. Jean Moses Gomes Principal of Marceline Junior College of Arts, Schience and Commerce was the chief guest of the programme. Starting her speech by singing a Konkani song "Konknni Amchi Bhas, Konknno Amcho Ganv" Mrs. Jean claimed that Konkani is a sweet language. As we Mangalorean love our Mangalorean cuisine we also need to love and promote our language by speaking and spreading it.

Speaking about "Mhataro Chorbela" drama Mrs. Jean said that she laughed and laughed and her one week tension just went away. She also said that her husband is not a Konkani. Yet he enjoyed the drama very much.

Banker John DSilva, Charted Accountant Wilfred Rego and Fr. Philip Gonsalves OFM Capuchin were the guest during the programme.

Vincent Castelino, Lawrence DSouza, Moses Michael Gomes, Stanislaus S Saldanha and Robert Quadras were also present at the occasion. Clement Lobo Chakala beautifully anchored the programme.
