Bangalore : Karnataka State Government Ban TV9 Channel In All Over Karnataka Free press gagged in Karnataka. Tv9 and News9 were taken off air by cable operators. This was done after a meeting 3 days ago between Karnataka Energy Minister D.K Shivakumar and the cable operators association.

TV9 management had to run pillar to post to get their services Kannada version of the channel ran in to a similar trouble in the neighbouring Karnataka State. It is said that the channel was gearing up to run a major expose against the Siddaramaiah government at 9.30pm in their prime time segment but was taken off air all of sudden.

 It is said that the channel services were barred by most MSOs of the state on the directive was issued by the state’s energy minister DK Shivakumar. While Karnataka Congress Committee Professional Cell condemns the news of any such black out, it is confirmed from our sources that the channel is off air from Monday evening. They say this is the first of such instance where a news channel is blacked out in Karnataka state.

Today already we the LMO’S and MSO’S are facing the brunt of digitisation, we are in no situation to take more increase on taxes and other costs on ROW. Please be informed that our representative had spoken to TV9 official repeatedly requesting them not to propagate such anti government activities but in vain, Hence we from KSCOA request you all to switch off TV9 and News9 from 06:00pm today until further notice
