Udupi : Rain of money poured in for the winners of all levels sports students of Mount Rosary English Schools Santhekatte, Kallianpur near here during the felicitation programme held for the students under Boys 14 Volley Ball match who represented State and won the second place at National level  held at Penugonda, Andhra Pradesh. To encourage sports and else Mount Rosary English School organized felicitation programme at Adishakthi Veerabhadra Temple near Goretti Hospital on Saturday, 25^th October, 2014.

Prior to the felicitation program grand procession was carried out from Santhekatte junction to Veerabhadra Temple who sportsmen and Headmistress were in the open jeep and large number of well wishers and others greeted them with garlands and crackers at large.

The stage program started with invocation prayer song by students. Sr. Adrian Serrao Principal of Mount Rosary English Schools welcomed the gatherings. District Sports Official Sithanadi Vittal Shetty gave his introduction talk beautifully with the way Mount Rosary Valley Ball team entered into the National level. He expressed the role of Mount Rosary School in the field of Sports and recapped the successful organized state level Chess Tournament.

The felicitation program was inaugurated by local MLA Pramod Madwaraj along with guests on the dais. Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha Correspondent of the School presided the occasion. Others present on the dais were Raghupathy Bhat former MLA, Jerry Vincent Dais Parish Pastoral Council Vice President and Entrepreneur, Sithanadhi Vittal Shetty DPO, Divakar Shetty DDPO, Madhukar S. TPO, Roshan Kumar Shetty Joint Director of Youths & Sports Department, Nagesh Shanbaug BEO, Brahmaver Section, Sathish Naik President of Kallianpur Village Panchayat, Shrikant Samanth President of Physical Teachers Association Brahmavar, Ravi Acharya PTA President, Sr. Adrian Serrao and among others.

Jerry Vincent Dais said during the occasion that within a short period of years Mount Rosary English School achieved lot not only in sports but in other due to the hard service by the Mount Rosary School team led by Sr. Adrian. Nagaraj and his team succeeded to get large number of sports awards for the school because of their hardwork all the time even odd hours of the day. Meantime Jerry Vincent Dais declared prize money of Rs. 5000 each to all winners at Hobli level, taluk, district, state and national level winners.

During in his inaugural address Pramod Madwaraj said that all the headmasters or teachers should follow the role model of Sr. Adrian who attached her duties in all fields. She led the school for the top growth of the school. Competition, pressure due to the academic education studies parents as well as students not interested in sports and games. In order to support sports the solution would be to give stipend to the sports students. More over Pramod Madwaraj promised to give Rs. 5000 each to winners of National level Volley Ball team of the district as well as also promised from his side to give Rs. 5000 to the winners.

Former MLA Raghypathy Bhat felicitated winning team members Dashrath, Aaron D’souza, Vaibhav, Glenn D’Souza, Manoj  of Mount Rosary and Vithesh of Sjri Vidyesh Vidyamanya National English Medium School Barkur  with Shawl, garland, fruits and citation.

Former MLA  Raghupathy Bhat also spoke during the occasion. Nagaraj and Sunil Poojary Physical teachers also felicitated during the occasion. Mahima Winner of state level Chess competition also felicitated during the occasion.

Sunil Poojary proposed vote of thanks while Sathischandra Shetty compered the program.
