MANGALORE: Deepavali held a special meaning for devotees who thronged Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala. While the festival of lights made their day bright, it was made special as the kshetra was also celebrating the 47th pattabhisheka of D Veerendra Heggade as dharmadhikari of the kshetra. Special pooja was offered at the temple, and basadi and all buildings in and around the Kshetra were tastefully decorated on this occasion.

The devotees showered Heggade with flowers and offered him fruits to express their devotion and admiration for him. In the felicitation function held later at Mahotsava Bhavan, Sri Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattaraka swamiji of Kanakagiri Kshetra offered benedictions and wished Heggade well. A felicitation programme for students, senior employees of the Kshetra too was held on this occasion. Veerendra Heggade announced new schemes for the benefit of people of the Kshetra to mark this occasion.

MANGALORE: The 47th vardanthyotsava of the pattabhisheka of D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, was held at Dharmasthala on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Heggade said the religious roots and culture should be protected whatever may be the advances in the modern world. He expressed his happiness that more people were now visiting religious places which was sign of people inclined towards God.

The occasion was marked with special puja at the basadis and temples. Devotees and fans of Veerendra Heggade felicitated him.  Veerendra Heggade was anointed the 21st dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala on October 24, 1968.
