Udupi : Annual feast of Vailankani Ward of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte Kallianpur celebrated with fervor near here on  Sunday, 19^th October, 2014. Thanksgiving mass for Our Lady of Vailankani held at 8 am mass.

In the evening get together of ward people and other well wishers held at Gurkar Luke D’Souza’s residence at Casa Maria, Santhekatte. The Vailankani ward established from St. Anthony Ward of the Mount Rosary Church and this is  maiden first feast of the new ward celebrated with something special and extraordinary under the leadership of long experienced energetic Gurkar Luke D’Souza.

The evening celebration of the ward fest started with the inauguration by lighting the lamp and switched on light in front of beautiful statue of Our Lady of Vailankani by the parish Priest of the Mount Rosary Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha. During in his inaugural address Fr. Nery Aranha said that Our Lady of Good Health Vailankani is the Mother of health always takes care for us during our bad health. Mother Mary believed Jesus every movement and remained faithful to Lord.

David D’Silva former Gurkar conducted the prayer services. Various games, singing, dances and entertainments were held during the ward fest celebration for the first time of the new ward of the church. October month born Birthdays were celebrated by cutting the cake.  Daina Mendonca Secretary of the ward placed report of the newly established ward. Geneview D’Souza placed the donors of the ward fest during the occasion. Former Vice Presidents’  Retd. Prof. Ligoury Aranha, Stany Cornelio, St. Anthony Ward Gurkar Richard D’Souza and large number of people of both the wards and others were participated during the celebration of Ward fest 2014. Beautiful fellowship dinner served to all the participants.

Luke D’souza Gurkar of the ward welcomed the gatherings and Maria Mendonca compered the entire program.
