Shri Rahul Gandhi addressed large public rallies in Wani (Dindori) in Nashik district of Northern Maharashtra and at Saswad (Purandar) in Pune district of Western Maharashtra. Shri Rahul Gandhi said in these rallies that businessmen are more important than the common man for Mr. Narendra Modi. He made changes in the laws governing prices of medicines before going on his US tour. This has badly impacted people struggling with cancer and other serious illnesses. A medicine that used to cost 8000 is now costing 1 lakh rupees. He must explain what the urgency was behind such a decision which benefits businessmen. Shri Modi has failed to control inflation. He imposed a large hike in railway fares. Pakistan and China are repeatedly upto several antics on India’s borders. However, Shri Narendra Modi does not have the time to pay attention to our country’s problems. He is busy in working on creating his own ‘image’ only.

“Governments run by the Congress have always cared about the welfare of the common man, have brought many laws to safeguard the fundamental rights of citizens in the country, brought in the Food Security Act and initiated a new Land Acquisition Act to stop the exploitation of farmers. However, the BJP government is all set to change these laws,” said Shri Rahul Gandhi. All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Maharashtra In-charge Shri Mohan Prakash, Former Chief Minister Shri Prithviraj Chavan along with prominent leaders, public representatives, Congress candidates and thousands of workers were present on the occasion.

Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi will be tour Vidarbha on 11th October 2014. During this tour, she will address public rallies at Brahmapuri in Chandrapur district and Gondia.
