Udupi, Seo 21: Vovio training and Felicitation to Cathrine Rodrigues was organised by Catholic Sabha Udupi varado and Konkani Sangatan Udupi district.The programme was inaugurated by Fr Lawrence d Almeida parish priest of Katpadi Church. He urged the parents to allow children to fall in love with Konkani so that our mother language and culture can be carried forward to the future generations.
Dr Gerald Pinto gave the introductory speech in which he urged the members to form Vovio groups in every parish of the Udupi Diocese. Louis D Almeida president, Catholic Sabha of Udupi Varado introduced Kum Catherine Rodrigues to the audience. Catherine Rodrigues who is selected for Sahitya Kala award of Mangaloren Konkani Association of Qatar was felicitated during the event.
Later Catherine trained the ladies in Vovio. Every parish gave the performance of vovio.
