Udupi : The feast of Assumption of Our Lady of Mother Mary celebrated at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur near here  by the chief celebrant of the Eucharistic Mass Rev Fr. Rolwin Joy Aranha Asst. Parish Priest of Milagres Cathedral along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of the Cathedral on Friday, 15^th August, 2014.

During in his homily Fr. Rolwin explained the history of the popularity of celebration of the feast of Assumption of Our Lady of Mother Mary. He further said that the ancient belief became Catholic doctrine and the Assumption was declared a truth revealed by the God.

After the mass, flag hoisting ceremony was held at Milagres Cathedral campus organized by Milagres High School. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Correspondent of the Milagres Institutions was hoisted the National colored flag. During the flag hoisting ceremony Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha, Walter Cyril Pinto Vice President of Milagres Cathedral Parish Pastoral Council, Paul Lobo Headmaster of Milagres High School were present.

Large number of students of the school, parishioners and staff of the High School were present.

St Joseph Higher Primary School also organized flag hoisting ceremony at school campus. Parents Teachers Association officials, Sr. Susheela Montiero Headmistress of the St. Joseph’s Higher Primary School, staff and larger number of students were present during the 68^th Independence day celebration of the country.

Meanwhile 68^th Independence Day celebrations celebrated at Milagres English Schools as well as Milagres PU College and Milagres College with patriotic fervor. School brass band both at Milagres English School campus and Milagres College campus displayed to fuel the celebrations of the 68^th Independence Day of the Nation. Dr. Nery Cornelio hoisted National flag in the college campus and later he addressed the students.
