Project for the Noble Cause - Paddy Saplings Plantation by Rotary Shankerpura sponsored Rotaract Club Subhasnagara

Rotary Shankerpura sponsored Rotaract Club of Subhasnagara is dreaming and aiming high to serve the poor people of their area ever since the formation of the club. Supported by Rotary Shankerpura jointly with Inner Wheel Shankerpura and with the assistance from locals they inaugurated their dream project of Paddy Saplings Plantation on Wednesday, 06nd August 2014 at Kunjargiri near Subhasnagara for second consecutive year.

The event was witness by District Rotaract Committee Chairman (DRCC) Rtn. Manjunath Upadaya, Rtr. Razak Kabakakars, District Rotaract Representive, (DRR), Rtr. Jayaraj, Zonal Rotaract Represntative (ZRR), Rtr. Sumith, District Awards Committe Chairman, Press reporter from Spandana TV channel and supported by members from local community.

The President Rtn. Jerome Rodrigues, Club Secretary Rtn. Clifford D’Mello and members of sponsoring club, Rotary Shankerpura along members of Inner Wheel club, Shankerpura were present to assist, support and motivate the young Rotaractors.  All of them applauded the Rotaractors for the good work they are doing for the less privileged people of the society.

Last year they started this project for a common cause called charity.  With a noble purpose in their mind, they approached a Good Samaritan for his vacant wet field for harvest. The field was ploughed and paddy saplings plantation was done jointly with assistance from members Rotary and Inner Club Shanerpura and locals. By the grace of God, it was a bumper crop and the ripened yield was reaped in time. The processed rice from this yield was distributed to three orphanages.

Like last year, this year also, the produce will be distributed to the poor and the needy.

The welcome speech was delivered by Rtr. Sumalata, President, Rotaract Subhasnagar and the project was supervised by District Secretary- Reporting (DSR) Rtr. Chandra, of Rotaract Subhasnagara.
