Print St John the Evangelist church Pangala, Shankerpura Celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour on the 20th July 2014
Shankerpura, Jul 23, 2014: As a preparation for this feast there was a ‘ tridum ‘ ( three days Novena) on the 16th, 17th & 18th of July. The parishioners flocked with great devotion to these novena held in honour of “ Nihtyadhar Mai “ . They poured out their intentions at her feet and prayed for its fulfillments. On these three days the devotees contemplated on three themes; Mary – Head of our Families, Mary – Model of prayer and Mary – Health of the Sick. On the feast day Rev Fr Jerald Sandeep D’Mello, who Hails from Pangla presently the assistant parish priest at shirva parish was the main celebrant of the festal mass. The Eucharistic celebration begun at 7.00.a.m. Rev Fr Dr leslie C. D’Souza the parish priest and Fr Lawrence Mendonca joined the festal mass . Fr Jerald broke the word of god and gave a reflection on the virtues of Mary namely service and sacrifice.
at evening there was a cultural programme Named “ One evening with Mother Mary “ ( Mariye sangim ek saanj )orgnised by ICYM Pangla, at 6.00.p.m. in the sabha bhavan hall, the event lighted up the minds and hearts of the people. The various clubs & sangatans of the parish performed their events with great talents. The toppers of the catechism mainly the 7th and 10th standard students were felicitated by the parish feast fr leslie d’souza . With the close of programme the feast ended in a joyful mood
