Kemmannu, July 9, 2014: Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves took charge as Parish Priest of St Theresa Church Kemmannu. Fr. Ferdinand arrived at Kemmannu at 4 pm on July 5 and was received at the church by outgoing Parish priest Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish vice president Mr. Ronald Menezes, Secretary Mrs. Grace Machado and large number of parishioners.
Representative of the Bishop, Kallianpur Vicar Var, Rector of the Cathedral, Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo oversaw the change of guard and administered the oath to the new priest. Fr. Mahesh, Head Master of Milagres English Medium High School and Fr. Harold Pereira ( Resident Priest of Kemmannu), Director of Small Christian Community (SCC), DIOCESE OF UDUPI were present during the occasion.
Outgoing priest Fr. Clement wished the new priest well and thanked the parishioners for the support extended to him. Fr. Ferdinand expressed his feelings and invoked parishioners support to him.
Many parishioners from the cathedral and relatives of Fr. Ferdinand accompanied him to Kemmannu.
Rev Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves presently serves as Director of Commission for Laity, DIOCESE OF UDUPI and the Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha, DIOCESE OF UDUPI. in addition to his task of serving as the Principal of Milagres P.U. College, Kallianpur.
Outgoing Parish Priest Rev Fr. Clement Mascarenhas has been appointed as full time Secretary of Catholic Education Society, DIOCESE OF UDUPI.
