Print Udupi, July 8, 2014 : The inauguration of Students’ Welfare Council was held on 4th July 2014 in the Silver Jubilee Hall at Milagres P.U. College, Kallianpur. The Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Denis A. D’Sa, PRO of Udupi Diocese and Parish Priest of Kuntalnagar Church spoke on the importance of leadership for the students. Being an old student of Milagres institution, he appreciated the selfless service of the institution over the past 47 years. He also named the institution “Mini India” as thousands of youth belonging to different castes, classes and religious communities study under this roof and find enlightenment in their life.
The Correspondent of Milagres institution, Very Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo presided at the programme. The P.U. College Principal Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves received the oath from the newly elected office bearers and wished them a bright future. The Guest of Honour Dr. Neri Cornelio, Principal of Milagres College addressed the students. Students’ Welfare Council Directors Mrs. Soudamini Rao, Lecturer in English and Mr. Harish Shetty, Lecturer in Commerce, student leaders Darryl Quadros, Akhila Nayak, Prathik Shetty and Sherlin D’Souza were also present on the dais.The newly elected President Darryl Quadros welcomed the gathering and Vice-President introduced the Chief Guest. Jyothsna Lewis conducted the programme and Secretary Prathik Shetty expressed gratitude to everyone in the form of Vote of Thanks.
