Fr. Clement Mascarenhas accorded an Emotional farewell by Kemmannu Parishioners.

Kemmannu, July 4, 2014: Fr. Clement Mascarenhas , who served as Parish priest of Kemmannu and leaving for better prospects to take charge as the Director of Education of Udupi diocese was accorded a tearful farewell by the Kemmannu Parishioners.

On Friday, after the holy mass and adoration of the sacrament, parishioners gathered at the church hall for the farewell function. Mrs. Grace Machodo, Secretary of the Parish Council read out the ‘Man Patra’ highlighting the stay of Fr. Clement for the last one year and the spiritual change the priest brought to the church.

As special case elders of the Church Mr. John Anthony D’Souza, Mrs. Ileen D’Lima, Mr. Austine Saldanha and Mrs. Juliana Menezes all elders of the community honored the priest with a flower bouquet, fruit basket, Shawl and a memento.  Mrs. Veronica Cornelio expressed the sentiments of parishioners and wished the priest well in his future role.

Church choir group sang a song specially written for Fr. Clement. Parishioners greeted the priest with flowers. Miss Nadia and Tiara compeered the programme. Mrs. Lolita Quadros proposed the vote of thanks.

There is a saying "one man’s loss is another man’s gain". I am with the Kemmanities, yes we do feel the loss of Fr. Clement.

I met him whenever I came to Kemmannu.He was always there with a smile and a warm welcome. Always ready to listen and assure that he would pray.

All I can say is that Archdiocese of Udipi will Benefit. We assure you Fr. Clement of our prayers- that the SPIRIT of God be with you in your new assignment.
