Print Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes celebrated at Mount Rosary Church
Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte–Kallianpur, joyfully celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes on Wednesday 11th February, with Marian devotion and prayerful fervour.
At 6.30 a.m., Marian faithful gathered in fairly good numbers before the beautifully decorated Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. In the soft light of dawn, parishioners held candles and reverently recited the Holy Rosary, creating a serene and faith-filled atmosphere. Though the sun had not yet fully appeared, the glow of candlelight and the spirit of devotion illumined the early morning, reflecting deep love for Mother Mary.
Following the Rosary, the faithful proceeded in a solemn procession into the church for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
Rev. Fr. Rohan Mascarenhas, Assistant Parish Priest, was the main celebrant of the High Mass. Earlier near the Grotto, in his inspiring reflection, he spoke about the apparitions of Mother Mary to St. Bernadette at Lourdes, France, in 1858, reminding the congregation of Mary’s message of prayer, penance, humility, and trust in God. He highlighted Lourdes as a place of healing and hope, where countless faithful have experienced spiritual and physical renewal through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother.
The liturgy was prayerfully led by the Gurkarn of Lourdes Ward, Mrs. Zeena D’Souza, along with the ward members. Their meaningful participation added beauty and devotion to the celebration, setting a positive and grace-filled tone for the day.
The Feast once again reminded the parish community that the message of Lourdes continues to echo through the years—
a call to deeper prayer, repentance, compassion for the suffering, and unwavering faith in God’s mercy through the loving intercession of Mother Mary.
The celebration concluded with hearts uplifted, as the faithful returned home carrying with them the peace, healing, and abundant blessings of Our Lady of Lourdes.
