Print Udupi, Feb 10: The Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon-2026 rally by the Central Industrial Security Force will be held in the district on February 18. Additional Deputy Commissioner Abid Gadyal instructed that necessary preparations should be made to make this cycling rally a success.
He was speaking after presiding over the preparatory meeting on Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon programme of CISF at his office in Manipal Rajathadri, today.
On the occasion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is organizing Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon-2026, a coastal cyclothon competition to bring together coastal communities, culture and national resolve in the western seaboard of the country. The distance is about 6,500 km. It will end in Kochi, Kerala on February 21.
The rally will start from Shiroor in Byndoor taluk and pass through Kundapur, Brahmavar, Udupi, Kaup and Hejmady. He said that the public, the community and the people in large numbers should participate in this rally and make it a success.
He said that the participants of the Cyclothon Rally will be welcomed in Trasi with local tradition at 8.30 am, where he will interact with students and community people.
He directed the officers of the Police Department to take all necessary precautionary measures for the smooth conduct of the rally, to provide safety to the cyclists and their staff and to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the smooth movement of the passengers.
Rajendra Prasad Pathak of NMPA Mangaluru Central Industrial Force, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education Department Maruti, District AIDS Control Officer Dr. Chidanand Sanju, Dr. Roshan Kumar Shetty, Assistant Director, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, and others were present.
