Print Udupi, Feb 9: Udupi district has its own identity at the global level. The food, customs and hospitality of the district have received global recognition. Udupi district will reach new heights in the tourism sector if the government gives priority to deploying tourist guides in the district to give accurate information about the historical places including the ancient temple to the tourists coming to the district from all corners of the world, said Hotel White Lotus MD Ajay P. Shetty.
Under the leadership of “Udupige Banni” , in association with Hotel White Lotus, he was speaking after inaugurating the Udupi Content Creators Meet held at White Lotus Auditorium in Udupi on February 8. He said that content creators need to lay more emphasis on the task of strengthening the eco-tourism sector by making local ideas more relevant.
Folklorist and artist Chetan Nailadi spoke as the chief guest and gave detailed information about the history of Kundagannada and local customs and cultural similarities and some differences between Udupi and Kundapur. K, Lakshminarayan Nayak, an employee of Manipal MAHE, has a huge collection of coins, notes and postage stamps from several countries. Lakshminarayana was felicitated on the occasion. Aryan Lobo, who won the district-level reels competition, was given an award and carries a cash prize of Rs 3000. ’Mysuru Kathakalu ’ a fame Dharmendra extended his best wishes from online.
Lakshmi Shenoy, Sneha Vinod Pai, Shreya Maravanthe, Shambhavi Bhandarkar and Srinidhi Hande conducted three seminars. Pradeep Bhardwaj, Bibi Kuldeep Kaur Kang, Satnam Kaur Sohal, Jaspal Singh, Gurmukh Singh Sohal, Harpal Singh Brar, Manjit Singh Mann and others were present on the occasion. Udupige Banni coordinator Ganesh Prasad Nayak welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Raghavendra Prabhu Karwal compered the programme.
