Udupi, Jan 20 : On part of “Milagres Utsov”, Sauhardha Koota and Pratibha Purashkar programme held at Milagres Cathedral Campus, Kallianpur near here on Monday, January 19^th, 2026 under the sponsorship of Wilson Fernandes and Leena Fernandes of Fernandes group.

The stage programme was presided over by Leena Fernandes, mother of host Wilson Fernandes, Very Rev Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General of Udupi diocese and Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur,  Vinay Kumar Sorake former MP and district in-charge minister, Joachim Alvaris, President of Konkani Sahitya Parished, Janardhan Those, former Zilla Panchayat member, Thonse Jayakrishna Shetty, Founder president of Jayakrishna Parisara Vedike, Prasad Raj Kanchan, Entrepreneur and Congress senior leader, Jagadish Adhikari of BJP, Dinakar Heroor, President of District Urban Development Authority, Rev Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Asst. parish priest of Milagres Cathedral, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, former BJP district president, Veronica Cornelio KPCC spokesperson, Valentine D’Souza former DySP, Shilpa Vede of Shiv Sena and others were present on the dais.

The programme began with the invocation prayer song. The programme was inaugurated by Leena Fernandes with lighting the lamp along with all dignitaries of the dais.

Addressing a gathering, Vinay Kumar Sorake said that our society is attractive. We are all one. In the present situation, there should be a need to unite with one society and need to live with peace and unity that we are all one. Sorake referred to the doctrine of Sri Narayana Guru that we are all one and for all religions God is one. We should respect other communities with dignity.

During the occasion, noted achievers in various designation, Preethi Devadiga, Reginald Furtado, Dr. Mohd Rafiq, Sai Prasad of Sai Social Service.

Meanwhile, Vishu Shetty Ambalpady, Social Activist, Vijay Kodavoor of BJP, Social activist, Tanu Shree Pithrody, YogaWord record holder, Vittal Poojary, Rajhotsava award winner and Deeksha U, Bharathanatyam Work record holder were felicitated during the occasion.

Joseph Menezes, philanthropist and donor was felicitated for his work and services for the poorest of the poor especially for dialysis patients.

Annasantharpane, dinner was served to all the participants during the occasion. Prior to the programme, a procession was held from Santhekatte to Milagres Kallianpur with tableau, brass band along with a huge line of auto rickshaws.

Ivan D’Souza, Member of Legislative Council and congress senior leader spoke at the end of the occasion and appreciated the services of the Wilson Fernandes Group.

Earlier,  Wilson Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Steevan Colaco, compared the programme. Fr. Pradeep Cardoza graced on the meal. 

On the part of the Milagres Utsov, Davdas Kapikad presented and director ‘Enna Kathe’ tulu melodious drama was held with record number of audiences. The drama was witnessed by a large number of people gathered from Kemmannu, Thottam, Santhekatte and other places.
