Print Kaup: Sri Sri Vedavardhana Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, who will be ascending the pedestal of Sri Krishna Math for the first time, took a holy dip in the Dandatheertha Lake near Kaup on Saturday morning and left for the Paryaya Peetha.
At about one o’clock in the night, Sri Sri Vedavardhana Tirtha Sripada, the head of the Shiroor Math, arrived at the Dandatirtha Math under the Sri Krishnapur Math, along with his disciples, and took a bath in the holy Dandatirtha Lake. It is a tradition to take a holy bath in Dandatirtha Kere and take an Paryaya ascension.
The Swamiji, after offering prayers at the temple, proceeded straight to the sanctum sanctorum.
MLA Raghupathy Bhat, municipal councilor Dinakar Shetty, district Urban Development Authority president Sudhakar Shetty, municipal members, and municipal commissioner Narayanappa were present on the occasion. Seetharama Thonitta and other dignitaries were also present.
