Udupi January 16 : On the occasion of Paryayautsova of  Shiruru Paryaya Sri Sri Vedavardhana Tirtha Swami at Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt, in the interest of maintaining law and order and public peace, the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 rules 21 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 shall apply to the shops holding licenses for the sale of liquor issued under Rule 3 of the Karnataka Excise (Sale of Indian and Foreign Liquor) Rules, 1968. Exercising the powers conferred, in Udupi City Municipality and Panchayat villages Udyavara, Korangrapadi, Alevoor, Hirebettu, Ambalapadi, Kuthpadi, Kadekaru, Kidiyur, Muduthonse and Paduthonse village limits (10-15 km) on January 17 from 10 am to January 18 until 6 pm.

Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T. K., who is also the District Magistrate, has issued an order banning the sale of liquor by bars and restaurants and wineries having liquor sale certificates from January 17 at 10am ti till 6 p.m. on June 18, ordering the closure of excise certificates, declaring a dry day in the jurisdiction of the above areas and banning the sale of liquor.

      ಉಡುಪಿ ಜನವರಿ 16 : ಉಡುಪಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಿರೂರು ಮಠಾಧೀಶರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ವೇದವರ್ಧನ ತೀರ್ಥ ಶ್ರೀ ಪಾದರ ಪರ್ಯಾಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಕಾನೂನು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಶಾಂತಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುವ ಹಿತದೃಷ್ಠಿಯಿಂದ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅಬಕಾರಿ (ಭಾರತೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದೇಶೀಯ ಮದ್ಯ ಮಾರಾಟ) ನಿಯಮಗಳು 1968 ರ ನಿಯಮ 3 ರಡಿ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಮದ್ಯ ಮಾರಾಟದ ಸನ್ನದುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಅಂಗಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅಬಕಾರಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ 1965 ರ ನಿಯಮ 21 ರನ್ವಯ ಪ್ರದತ್ತವಾದ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿ, ಉಡುಪಿ ನಗರಸಭಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಾದ ಉದ್ಯಾವರ, ಕೊರಂಗ್ರಪಾಡಿ, ಅಲೆವೂರು, ಹಿರೇಬೆಟ್ಟು, ಅಂಬಲಪಾಡಿ, ಕುತ್ಪಾಡಿ, ಕಡೆಕಾರು, ಕಿದಿಯೂರು, ಮೂಡುತೋನ್ಸೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಡುತೋನ್ಸೆ ಗ್ರಾಮ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ (10-15 ಕಿ.ಮೀ) ಜನವರಿ 17 ರಂದು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10 ಗಂಟೆಯಿಂದ ಜ. 18 ರ ಸಂಜೆ 6 ಗಂಟೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಮದ್ಯ ಮಾರಾಟದ ಸನ್ನದುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಬಾರ್ & ರೆಸ್ಟೋರೆಂಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ವೈನ್ಶಾಪ್ಗಳ ಮದ್ಯ ಮಾರಾಟವನ್ನು ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಿ, ಅಬಕಾರಿ ಸನ್ನದುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಲು ಆದೇಶಿಸಿ, ಮೇಲ್ಕಂಡ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಣದಿನ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿ, ಮದ್ಯ ಮಾರಾಟ ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಿ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ದಂಡಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಟಿ.ಕೆ ಆದೇಶಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
