Udupi : The state women’s dormitory was decorated with a welcome gate, wedding canopy, mango tree-torn, colorful rangoli pictures, and the wedding ceremony at the state women’s dormitory was no less than a private wedding. The wedding was graced by the staff members who welcomed the dignitaries and officials with cold drinks and rose flowers.

Nivasini Malleswari is a college student and is in her third year of graduation.  Her newly wedded husband is Sanjay Prabhu. After graduation, he worked at IBM. Susheela, another resident of the institution, is deaf and mute and manages the dormitory like any other. Nagaraja from Hassan, who is engaged to be married, checked the background of the groom in both these marriages and informed that this auspicious work is being performed in the women’s home with the consent of the residents and with the consent of the donors.
The superintendent of the dormitory, Pushparani, said that it is said that the groom of a bride is decided beforehand in heaven. But the marriage of the inmates of the dormitory is definitely going on in the state women ’s shelter home today. It is the credit of the State Women’s Home in Nittur that 25 marriages have already been successfully completed and the 26th and 27th marriages are being held in a grand manner. He said that the marriage program was organized under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner in collaboration with other departments and all the officers and staff participated in this program and made it a success.
A sumptuous dinner was also served on the occasion. It was a common sight for the newlyweds to be treated to dinner, blessed guests, and clicked photos with the newlyweds.

K., District Information Officer Manjunath B., District Narrative Officer Anuradha Hadimane, Women and Child Development Officer Veena Vivekananda, staff of the State Women’s Home, residents, staff of the Women and Child Development Department and others were present.
