Udupi, Dec 11 :The 28th Shishyopanyayana ceremony of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College, Hospital & Research Centre was held on 11-12-2025 in the presence of students, teachers, and parents. The holy rituals commenced with a Dhanwantari Homa early in the morning at the Bhavaprakasha Auditorium..

Presiding over the subsequent formal gathering, the Principal of the college, Dr. Mamatha K.V, stated that the traditional method of learning knowledge directly from the teacher  has been followed since ancient times, and even today, in the field of Ayurveda, the guidance of experienced physician-teachers is invaluable for achieving success. She urged the students to maintain constant dedication, hard work, and commitment in their studies.

The chief guest, Dr. Gurubasavaraj, retired Chief Medical Superintendent of JSS Ayurveda College, Mysuru, spoke about the significance of the Shishyopanyayana ceremony and appreciated the contributions of this college in both the Ayurvedic and social sectors. He emphasized that the field of Ayurveda offers vast opportunities for research and that society today has great expectations regarding Ayurvedic healthcare. He encouraged the students to become skilled Ayurvedic physicians.

On this occasion, Dr. Nagaraj S., the Medical Superintendent, welcomed the guests and explained the noble purpose of the Shishyopanyayana ceremony. Dr. Prashanth, Dean Administration, administered the oath to the students. Dr. Srikanth P,Dean PG & PhD Studies  and Dr. Rajneesh Giri, Dean Best Practice were also present.

Dr. Prithviraj Puranik, Dean UG Studies, offered the vote of thanks. The program was compered by Dr. Kavya, Assistant Professor in the Kaumarabhritya Department, and Dr. Shubha P.U. from the Agadatantra Department.
