Udupi, Dec 5: Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Prateek Bayal said that the Provident Fund Organization, which works under the central government’s Ministry of Labour and Employment, will provide financial security to the employees after retirement.
He was speaking at a seminar on EPF and ESI.

The central and state governments are providing financial assistance to every employee working on contract basis through various schemes and programmes. Everyone should get the benefit of this, he said.
The rules for receiving advance in the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme have been relaxed to allow the account holder to get advance financial benefit after one year of service for construction of house, higher education, marriage, illness and other reasons. The Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme will provide medical and financial benefits to workers including sickness, disability, etc. A workshop has been organized for the account holders of EPS and EPFO and they should make use of the workshop.
The terms and conditions of the EPFO scheme change from time to time. He said that a workshop has been organized for the Gram Panchayat staff on theES I & EPF facility.
Chief Planning Officer Uday Kumar Shetty said, Udupi district is at the forefront of rural development in the state. Gram panchayats can develop only when the gram panchayat staff is strong. He said that the benefits of the EPFO scheme will be available only when the information about it is available.

District Panchayat Secretary K.S. Kadroli said that the workshop has been organized keeping in mind the interest of gram panchayat staff working on contract basis and to make them aware of the schemes to provide financial security to them.
ESI Branch Manager Priyagi shared the information about ESI facility in the workshop.
Nittur NCHR Solutions Human Resource Consultant Naveen Chandra, District Gram Panchayats Clerk, Clerk cum DEO, Tax Collectors, Pump Operators, Jawans, Sanitisers, Library Supervisors and others were present on the occasion.
District panchayat chief accountant Nischith Hegde welcomed the gathering and PDO Anil Kumar Shetty compered the programme.
