Catholic Sabha Mount Rosary Advances Digital Competence with One-Day AI Training Seminar 

The Catholic Sabha Unit of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte–Kallianpur, organised a one-day Artificial Intelligence Awareness and Hands-on Training Seminar on Sunday, 30 November 2025, at the Anugraha Pastoral Centre, Ambagilu. The programme, designed to elevate digital readiness among parishioners, mirrored the format and professional depth of earlier AI workshops conducted for working professionals and community leaders.

The seminar opened in the presence of Rev. Dr Roque D’Souza, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr Vincent Crasta, Administrator of Anugraha Pastoral Centre; Rev. Fr Rohan Mascarenhas, Assistant Parish Priest; and Rev. Fr Henry C. D’Souza of the Pillar Fathers. Catholic Sabha President, Archibald Furtado, welcomed the participants, highlighting the growing need for digital fluency in both personal and professional spheres.

The technical sessions were led by Fr A I Fernandes, Director of Canara Communication Centre and AI Coach, together with Mr Leo Victor Zalki, Catholic AI Professional and collaborator in faith–technology initiatives. Their sessions reflected the same professional rigour and industry-aligned methodology that have defined previous corporate-level and institutional trainings. They translated emerging AI trends into accessible, real-world workflows relevant to communication, productivity, research, and creative output.

Participants were introduced to the fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence, followed by demonstrations of tools such as Gemini, Perplexity Pro, ChatGPT, Meta AI, and other free creative platforms. The training emphasised hands-on learning, enabling attendees to generate content, design visual material, prepare presentations, and explore research techniques on their own devices—an approach consistent with previous programmes aimed at professional excellence.

The seminar drew strong engagement throughout the day. “This was my first exposure to AI, and I was surprised by how easily we could apply these tools to our daily work,” said one participant, noting the clarity and practicality of the sessions. Another attendee shared, “The training opened my eyes to how much time we can save in documentation, design, and planning. It felt like a professional development workshop we usually see in corporate settings.”

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Margaret D’Souza, Secretary of the Catholic Sabha, who acknowledged the collective efforts of the clergy, organisers, resource persons, and participants.

The initiative positioned Mount Rosary Parish as a forward-thinking community committed to equipping its members with the competencies required to navigate a rapidly evolving digital world—continuing a strong trajectory of training programmes centred on professional excellence and technological empowerment.
