Udupi Diocese Annual Eucharistic Procession and ’Christ the King Feast’ on Sunday, November 23

The annual Eucharistic procession and the grand Christ the King celebration of the Udupi Catholic Diocese will be held on Sunday, November 23, at 3 PM in the premises of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur.

The solemn Eucharistic Holy Mass for the annual procession will be offered by the Bishop of the Udupi Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo. After the Mass, the Blessed Sacrament, placed reverently on a specially decorated vehicle, will be taken in a devotional procession through the city, allowing the faithful to offer public honour and veneration to the Holy Eucharist.
A large number of priests, religious sisters, and thousands of faithful are expected to participate, adding spiritual grandeur to the celebration. Afterward, the Bishop will deliver an inspiring message.

The Eucharistic procession will move prayerfully from Milagres Cathedral to Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte Kallianpur. There, a short sermon on the Word of God and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will take place. The sermon will be preached by Rev. Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Assistant Parish Priest of Milagres Cathedral.

With hymns, candlelight, and prayers, the procession will gain remarkable cultural and spiritual significance.

On this solemn occasion, special prayers will be offered for peace, fraternity, and human welfare in India and around the world, stated Monsignor Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General of the Diocese, in a media release.
Buntings, flex banners, were in place throughout en route from Cathedral to Mount Rosary Church as enthusiastic volunteers making necessary arrangements.
