Crores of Rupees Fraud to Shiriyar Seva Co-operative Society: FIR against two including Kavadi branch manager

Udupi, Nov 15: The manager and staff of the Kavadi branch of Shiriyara Seva Sahakari Sangha at Saibarakatte have cheated crores of rupees to the Sangha. A case of cheating has been registered.
Suresh Bhat, the in-charge manager of the Kavadi branch of the Shiriyar Seva Sahakari Sangh at Saibarakatte, and Harish Kulal, a junior clerk, were transferred to another branch as per the decision of the association’s governing body on November 5. Ram, who was later transferred to Kavadi branch as manager, had collected around Rs. 1.70 crore from the Kavadi branch when he took over from the previous manager Suresh Bhat. There was a difference. Accordingly, Ram, along with the chief executive officer and office staff of the association, inspected and collected Rs 1.70 crore on the occasion. A complaint has been lodged with the police about the fraud.
Also, Harish Kulal had earlier took Rs 21 lakh on gold mortgage. On checking, it was found that Harish Kulal was not carrying any gold ornaments. It is alleged that both of them joined together and betrayed the Shiriyara Seva Sahakari Sangha in order to cheat and defraud it.
A case has been registered at Kota police station and the investigations are on.
