KCCDCL Awareness and Orientation Seminar Held at Ambagilu.

The Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh (R), in association with the Karnataka Christian Community Development Corporation Limited (KCCDCL), organised an Awareness and Orientation Seminar on Saturday, 8th November 2025, at Anugraha Pastoral Centre, Kakkunje, Udupi.

This seminar aimed to create awareness among the Christian community about the various welfare schemes and projects launched by the KCCDCL, especially focusing on the economically weaker sections, women’s empowerment, and educational opportunities for youth within India and abroad.

The program began prayerfully with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Mr. Prashanth Jattanna, Director of KCCDCL, along with Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, and other dignitaries.

Mr. Ronald D’Almeida, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, presided over the program. In his presidential address, he thanked the Chief Minister and Government of Karnataka for the generous allocation of ₹250 crores for the Christian minority community and appreciated KCCDCL’s initiatives for inclusive development.

Dr. Gerald Pinto, Animator of the Diocesan Laity Commission, extended a warm welcome to all and set the tone of the seminar through his meaningful keynote address. Mr. Joel D’Almeida, Secretary of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, proposed the vote of thanks.

In his address, Bishop Gerald Lobo urged all Catholic Sabha leaders to reach out to the grassroots level and ensure that the benefits of these government schemes truly reach the deserving members of the community.

Mr. Jattanna appreciated the efforts of the Catholic Sabha for organising this first-of-its-kind awareness seminar in the Diocese and assured his full cooperation and support in future initiatives.
Mr Yashodhara J. narrated various schemes, scholarship, women empowerment proposals, self employment projects and financial subsidy and interest free loan available and online application format to all the attendees.

More than 100 selected and enthusiastic Catholic Sabha leaders from 52 parishes across the Udupi Diocese attended the program, making it a fruitful and inspiring session dedicated to community empowerment and collective progress.
