A Day of Sportsmanship and Unity – SKMWA Hosts 6th Peace Trophy Kabaddi Tournament 2025 Doha, Qatar (on October 10, 2025)

The South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association (SKMWA) Qatar proudly organized the 6th Peace Trophy Kabaddi Tournament 2025 at the Aspire Ladies Hall, bringing together teams, players, and supporters from across Qatar for a full day of spirited competition and camaraderie. Five teams, SKMWA Qatar, Tulukoota Qatar, Maisarakar, Markhiya Al Fifa and Sanskrit Qatar, battled across twelve thrilling matches, including league rounds, semi finals, and the grand finale.

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Master Arhaan Anshar, followed by a welcome address by SKMWA President Mr. Imran Ahmed Bava. General Secretary Mr. Rasheed Bambila led the oath-taking ceremony, emphasizing fairness and unity. Past presidents and senior members of SKMWA, along with Tulukoota Qatar’s President, jointly inaugurated the tournament.

Mr. Saleem Ali, serving as the Master of Ceremony (MC), beautifully anchored the day’s program, maintaining an engaging and energetic atmosphere. Renowned Mangalore-based host Mr. Diwakar added excitement with his lively commentary, while referees Mr. Ratheesh Thokkottu and Mr. Aris Kalpane ensured professionalism and integrity throughout, we also appreciate Mr. Anil and Mr. Ramana for their dedication and valuable contributions to the Kabaddi event.

A felicitation ceremony honored Mr. Ibrahim Beary and Mr. CK Firoz  for their dedicated contributions to the association. The evening was graced by distinguished guests, including ICC President Mr. Manikantan, ISC President Mr. Abdul Rahman, and ICBF President Mr. Shanawaz Bawa, who joined community leaders to celebrate the spirit of brotherhood. Mr. Rasheed Kakkinje honored the late Hajji Mohammed Kunhi with a heartfelt tribute for his lifetime of service and dedication.

After an intense final, Tulukoota Qatar emerged as Champion, with SKMWA Qatar finishing as Runners-up. In his closing remarks, Mr. Rasheed Bambila expressed gratitude to all contributors, while President Mr. Imran Ahmed Bava commended the team’s unity and dedication. The event’s success was made possible by the tireless efforts of the Executive Committee Vice President Mr. Mohammed Condana, Treasurer Mr. Shamsheer, Event Secretary Mr. Sarfraz, Sports Secretary Mr. Ameer Hamza, Event Secretary Mr. Saleem Ullal, SKMWA Team Manager Mr. Shameer Punjalkatte and Event Secretary Mr. Ahmed Irfan. The Peace Trophy 2025 once again highlighted SKMWA’s mission to promote unity, friendship, and the spirit of sports in Qatar.
