‘Yuva Ratna’ Youth Leader Godwin Muscarenhas Honoured at Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte–Kallianpur

It was a proud and joyous occasion for the parishioners of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte–Kallianpur, as one of their own — Mr. Godwin Muscarenhas, an energetic youth leader and promising entrepreneur — was felicitated for receiving the prestigious ‘Yuva Ratna’ Award, a Karnataka State-level recognition for his exemplary leadership and service to youth.

The felicitation ceremony took place on Sunday, 12th October 2025, immediately after the 8:00 a.m. Holy Mass. Parish priest Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza draped the traditional shawl, while Rev. Fr. Rohan Muscarenhas, Assistant Parish Priest, garlanded the honouree. Mrs. Priya Furtado, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, read out the citation and presented the same to the awardee.

Mrs. Daisy Mendonca, Convenor of Parish Ayogs, Mr. Arnold Roche, ICYM Animator, along with the ICYM President and leading office bearers, were present on the occasion. As a mark of love and appreciation, the youth representatives offered Mr. Godwin a bouquet, fruit basket, and a shawl on behalf of ICYM and YCS.

To conclude the brief yet memorable programme, Rev. Fr. Rohan Muscarenhas proposed the vote of thanks, congratulating Mr. Godwin Muscarenhas and all who contributed to making the event a meaningful one.

Over the past decade, Godwin Muscarenhas has rendered selfless service in YCS and ICYM at Mount Rosary Church, Kallianpur Varado, and the Udupi Diocese in various capacities, including President and Secretary. In his short response, he gratefully acknowledged the encouragement and support of his parents, sister, past and present parish priests, assistant priests, animators, and parishioners who shaped his leadership journey.
