he Department of PG Studies in Kaumarabhritya organized a State level CME on Bala Poshana in
Vagbhata hall, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda, Hospital and Research Centre,
Udupi on 30/09/2025

The President of the function was Dr. Nagaraj S (Medical Superintendent, SDMCAH&R, Udupi). Chief guest for the ceremony was Mrs. Chaya K (Assistant Professor Dietetics and Applied Nutrition, WGSHA, MAHE, Manipal). The Chief Organizing Secretary was Dr. Prathviraj Puranik (Professor and Head, Department of Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi). Dr. Srikant Sir ( Dean PG and PhD studies Medical, SDM College of Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre, Udupi) was present among the dignitaries.

The programme commenced with Prayer by Dr Aishwarya & Dr. Lakshmi (III ^rd MD Scholar, Dept. of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi) followed by inauguration and lighting the lamp by the guests.

Dr Prathviraj Puranik delivered the welcome Address. Mrs. Chaya congratulated the department for the organization of an apt CME on nutrition and highlighted it’s importance. Dr. Nagaraj S highlighted the significance of Annapanavidhi Adhyaya of Acharya Charaka in the current era in his Presidential address. The first speaker Mrs.Chaya delivered lectures on the topic “Nutritional management in Metabolic and Neurodevelopmental disorder”. She stressed upon the etiology and the dietary management of the same.

The second speaker Dr Janardhana Prabhu Sir (Consultant  Pediatrian and Neonatologist, Hitech Medicare Hospital, Udupi) gave lecture on the topic “Obesity in Children: Special Emphasis on High calories and Fat intake in Early Childhood ” and on “ Role of Micronutrients in Early Childhood”. He talked about the lifestyle changes causing obesity in Early Childhood, discussed its management and how to prevent it.

Nearly 23 Delegates who participated in the CME were from Alvas Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri, Yennepoya Ayurveda Medical College, Mangalore and PG Scholars from Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya and Swasthavrita, SDMCAH&R, Udupi.

For the Valedictory function Dr. Prashanth K Sir (Dean Administration, SDMCAH&R, Udupi) was the President and Dr.Janardhana Prabhu Sir was the special guest. Welcome Adress was done by Dr. Sayali Manohar Pawar (1^st  MD Scholar, Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi) and Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Tejswini Raje (1^st  Year MD Scholar, Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi). A token of gratitude was handed over to all the guest speakers.

Other faculties of the institution Dr. Nagaratna (Associate Professor, Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi), Dr.Sahana Shankari a ( Associate Professor, Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi), Dr Kavya (Assistant Professor, Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi) and Dr. Anju (Assistant Professor, of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi) their presence graced the occasion. Dr Chithralekha, Assistant Professor, of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi was the Programme Coordinator. All PG Scholars of Dept of Kaumarabhritya and Swasthavritta actively participated.

Master of Ceremony for Inaugural function was done by Dr. Likitha M V (IInd MD Scholar,Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi) and for Valedictory function, Dr. Sayali  Manohar Pawar (Ist MD Scholar, Dept of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, SDMCAH&R, Udupi).
