‘Sumadhur’ musical concert by Joshal D’Souza launched in Mangaluru – Tickets now available

The city is all set to witness a musical extravaganza as the much-anticipated Konkani concert ‘Sumadhur’, presented by celebrated singer and vocal trainer Joshal D’Souza, gears up for its grand premiere. The concert is scheduled to be held on November 15, at 4.30 pm at St Agnes Auditorium.

A grand ticket launch event was recently held, graced by prominent personalities including Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza provincial superior, OFM Capuchin, Walter Nandalike founder, Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, Anil Lobo Chairman, MCC Bank Ltd, Sanjay Rodrigues music director, and Stany Bela show director. The event marked the official release of concert tickets and witnessed an outpouring of support from the local arts and music community.
Speaking at the launch, Walter Nandalike shared heartfelt remarks about Joshal’s inspiring journey. He said, “I had the privilege of watching Joshal evolve as an artiste from the beginning. After winning the prestigious Gulf Voice of Mangalore title, she never looked back. Despite being an engineer, she chose to follow her musical passion. Her return to India was marked by a clear vision and dreams filled with music. Today, she is not only a renowned singer but also a torchbearer for budding musicians.”

He also emphasized the importance of valuing art and artistes, urging audiences to support performances through ticketed events as a sign of respect for the effort behind the art.

Wishing the concert Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza said, “Joshal’s early days were filled with struggles in finding proper training and opportunities. She persevered and is now a shining star in the Konkani music world. Her skills in singing, composing, teaching, and acting make her a role model for the next generation. I wish her and her students great success in this musical venture.”

Anil Lobo praised Joshal’s role as a mentor, highlighting the many students from her academy who have gone on to win reality shows and competitions. “Sumadhur Sangeeth Academy is shaping future musicians who will carry the Konkani legacy forward,” he said.

A star-studded musical evening 

The concert, ‘Sumadhur’, promises to be a celebration of young talent and rich Konkani music. The music for the show is arranged by trending music director Sanjay Rodrigues, joined by well-known celebrity musicians including Roshan Crasta Bela, Melwyn Leema, Stalin, Veekshith Udupi, Prajwal Fronteiro, and Sanjeeth Rodrigues.

The stage will be set ablaze by the high-energy dance troupe Urban Groove, while over 150 children from Sumadhur Sangeeth Academy will showcase their vocal talent in a variety of performances alongside Joshal. A children’s Baila segment will also be featured, making the event vibrant and family-friendly. The concert will be hosted by acclaimed compere Nelson Monis, Ujjre.

The entire concert is directed by renowned show director Stany Bela, ensuring a seamless and entertaining production.

Joshal D’Souza is a leading name in the Konkani music industry.
