Print Four Jesuit deacons were ordained priests at Mangalore.
Four Jesuit deacons were ordained priests by Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, on October 04, 2025 in the Divine Mercy Church, Fatima Retreat House. The newly ordained priests are: Frs Nishanth Noronha, Preethesh Misquith, Pruthvi Rodrigues, and Sharun D’Souza.
In his homily, In his homily the Bishop encouraged the deacons to inculcate the values of a prophets of hope in our time of darkness. He added, “Prophets need to know Christ and give his message of hope to the people entrusted to their care.”
The Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province, Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, thanked the Bishop and all present – priests, religious, friends and relatives of the new priests.
After the Mass the new priests and their parents were felicitated. Fr Sharun D’Souza spoke on behalf of the new priests and thanked all the persons who had, at different stages of their life, accompanied them on their journey towards priesthood.
Fr Leston Lobo and Sch Rudolf D’Souza prepared the deacons for the ordination ceremony with the beautiful liturgy. Fr Vishwas Misquith was the Master of Ceremonies at the Ordination Mass.
